Best before 31/8/22 Tempeh (pronounced TEM-pay) originally came from Indonesia where it was an ancient delicacy, and remains a time-honoured favourite today. Our TONZU Tempeh is traditionally made by tenderly cooking our whole organic soya beans (BioGro certified), and adding a rhyzopus culture to them. This culture grows through the beans, binding them together to form a dense, tasty TONZU Tempeh.
Slice TONZU Tempeh into thin strips. Fry in vegetable oil on a medium to high heat for 2 minutes either side until golden brown, sprinkling with organic tamari while cooking. TONZU Tempeh is also excellent barbequed, grilled, baked, steamed or boiled.
TONZU Tempeh is one of the few vegetarian sources of vitamin B12, is high in protein, and low in saturated fats, with absolutely no cholesterol This makes TONZU Tempeh an easy way to greatly reduce your familys weekly intake of saturated fats and cholesterol by substituting it for a meals meat protein.
