Okainamu: Literally place of the hungry sandflies! Luckily for you Jeremy delivers the best of his organically grown fresh fruit and vegetables to us each week, so you can eat his food, rather than be eaten by New Zealand's small native nuisance, the sandlfy.

Okainamu started as a run down grazing unit in 1982 and has become a wonderful BioGro certified farm and orchard in the Upper Wairoa Gorge. Planting shelter, timber, nut trees and establishing orchards, as well as a quality water supply enabled Jeremy to irrigate and the sheltered north facing property now has diverse plantings of pip fruit, stone fruit, citrus, nuts, kiwi fruit, figs and table grapes.
