Bellbird Stollen is made using a pre-ferment to develop the flavour, generously slathered in melted butter straight out of the oven, and finished with a dusting of icing sugar. Delicious with a cup of black tea or coffee.
Storage tips: Stollen will keep for several weeks in its packaging. Because Bellbird does not use any preservatives, it will naturally become drier over time, which is how it is traditionally eaten in Germany after being left to mature. Once open, transfer it in an airtight container and eat within a few days. If you want to keep your Stollen for longer, we recommend freezing it.
They try to keep their products simple and natural, and make them the old fashioned way. Quality baking takes time! Allowing the dough the time it needs to properly ferment makes it more digestible and develops more complex flavours - and those are things worth waiting for.
Ingredients: Spray-free white flour, butter, water, marzipan (ground almonds, icing sugar, orange juice and zest, almond essence), mixed peel, currants, raisins, cranberries, rum, organic cane sugar, milk powder, sea salt, spices, yeast.
