By law this product requires vacuum packaging. This type of packaging stops air from getting to the meat and effectively stops the natural ageing of the meat. This creates a build up of lactic acid which can make the meat smell or become slimy, especially meat with bones intact (such as ribs or chops). The meat is still 100% fresh and we simply recommend you wash the meat under running water which will remove the smell.
Woody's Farm ham come from NZ free range pigs born and bred outdoors. They are guaranteed free range for the entirety of their lives.
