Big Organic Mix Box
Each box contains a healthy mix of organic vegetables (8-10 varieties) and fruit (2-3 varieties).
What makes each Ooooby box so special?
Organic produce in your Ooooby box doesn’t travel long distances. It isn’t harvested in advance. It doesn’t sit in warehouses waiting to be sold.
You buy it. Our local growers harvest it. We pack and deliver it directly to your door in Auckland and Waikato.
Organic & nutrient-denseOoooby’s small farmers are deeply passionate about soils and growing nutrient-dense food. They take joy in knowing their chemical-free carrots, kale and apples are the raw ingredients for our health and well-being.
Ooooby brings this life-giving food to you, while ensuring our growers are supported too.
Delivered to your doorOoooby delivers the farmer’s market to you with the convenience of a weekly or fortnightly subscription. Your weekends are now free to sleep in or do something with the kids other than drive around hunting for real food!
You may love the atmosphere of a vibrant farmer’s market. We do too! Have the freedom to show up at 11am – when the best produce is gone. Enjoy some coffee and crepes with family without having to get bags of food home quickly so food doesn’t spoil in a hot car.
CustomisablePrefer rocket to bok choy? No problem. Swap it out at no extra cost. Want fewer pears and more apples? Ooooby offers free customisation of boxes. It takes less than a minute a week.
Or do you prefer full control of your weekly shop? Feel free to buy organic produce individually too.
No Food WasteEach week we tell our growers exactly how much to harvest so that no food is wasted. It means Ooooby growers can be financially sustainable. For you, it means your organic fruit and veggies are crazy fresh because your box is harvested FOR YOU.
Plastic FreeFreshly harvested healthy local food that is minimally handled and kept cool from farm to fridge does not need plastic to keep them alive.
Pause, skip or cancel any timeWe don’t lock you in with contracts or upfront payments. You can easily skip a delivery, pause your subscription if you go on vacation, or cancel entirely any time.
Love, cook and share REAL FOOD.
As you rekindle your love of good food – real food – you’ll enjoy preparing and sharing it with loved ones. You may even find that your cooking improves simply by using fresh local ingredients that are grown with love – Out Of Our Own Back Yards.
What’s inside the box? This local organic food box is curated with care each week to find the perfect balance of vegetables, greens, herbs, staples and fruit.
We work within the seasons yet try to avoid repetition. We like to delight you with interesting tastes that you may not know and introduce produce to you with special health benefits.
Buying mid-season is the secret to getting great value. But at the same time who doesn’t love new season potatoes? As we said, balance…
You’ll find “ugly” produce in your box too. Why pay more just because other people don’t see inner beauty... and taste... and nutrition?
Is all produce organic? Not all of Ooooby’s small growers are certified organic. In fact, some of the best ones are purposely not. They may be uncertified organic, spray-free or regenerative and beyond organic. This is clearly labelled each week (above) and you are free to swap anything out you don’t want.
The difference is that we know our growers personally. We visit their farms. We work together as a team. We vouch for them.
How does Ooooby support its growers?
Ooooby farmers produce high quality nutrient-dense organic fruit and veggies and we support them by paying fair and fast. We don’t haggle to get the lowest price. We don’t delay payments for weeks or months just because we can.
We want our growers to do well and continually improve their farm. They invest in their soil and their production so you can invest in your health.
Is all produce from small growers?
Small farmers don’t grow everything. Carrots, broccoli, potatoes, onions and apples are good examples of produce that is too expensive to grow by hand.
When we buy produce from the big boys it’s because our little guys don’t have any – and we only buy certified organic, of course!
We recommend storing sensitive produce in zip-lock bags or ice-cream containers in the fridge. They'll stay surprisingly fresh for up to 2 weeks!
