Convoy Lane Honey has its hives situated on the banks of the upper Tamaki Estuary where the bees forage in the bountiful blossoms of the growers very own fruit orchard starting with the citrus blossom in the spring as well as the myriad of flora and fauna in our area such as Clover, Pohutakawa, and Mangroves.

Their honey is a multi-floral raw honey with a sweet fruity flavour and a light golden colour. When extracting the honey, special care is taken to ensure it is not over heated and it remains unfiltered in order to maintain its natural raw health properties such as beneficial pollen, enzymes, and anti-bacterial qualities. As such this honey will start to crystallise over time. This is a naturally occurring process in raw honey and does not change its quality in any way, only its texture.

While some people prefer the smooth grainy texture of crystallised honey, those who prefer it liquid can achieve this by warming the honey which will bring it back to its liquid state. Be sure not to heat it any more than 42 degrees though as this will damage the honey, stripping it of its health properties.
