Wai-Ora means liquid health, life-giving. With 3 generations of Thompsons, they are now into their 4th decade of producing minimally processed honey, based on ancient Maori principals: A belief that everything that we say, think and do should be done with future generations in mind. Wai-Ora honey is harvested chemical-free and no sugar feeding to the bees, with little interference during the creation process working with nature's genius in order to provide a totally raw organic product. Nestled in the foothills of North Canterbury Inland road, Wai-Ora is in the heart of the South Island Manuka country, where the family farm works sustainably towards a harmonious connection between farmer, bee and all forms of life. Third generation beekeeper Priscilla likes to say "no bee left behind" and in doing so demonstrates the ongoing integrity and respect for other life forms that is at the heart of the Thompson family's commitment to their craft.
