The Ironclad Sharpening Steel is hand-crafted from the good stuff in Aotearoa, NZ — high-quality German steel.
The surface of the steel is a 'No. 3 Cut'. For those less familiar with the language, this is a general purpose sharpening texture, or "etch" that is coarse enough to tackle even the dullest blade in your kitchen.
We chose black steel for our sharpening tools to ensure they hold their etch longer (less drag when sharpening) and they won't rust. Also, Ninjas wear black and they’re the blade experts. Duh.
Like our knives, our Sharpening Steel is made with Shear Edge™️ wool handles and comes with a lifetime guarantee.
